MANAGED VIRTUAL PRIVATE CLOUD
MOVE YOUR DATA TO THE CLOUD SAVE ON MAINTENANCE AND HARDWARE WITH BETTER SECURITY
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL PRIVATE CLOUD? (VPC)
A Virtual Private Cloud is a computing architecture where multiple customers share physical resources such as servers, storage, networking equipment, and software licenses. A VPC provides access to shared public infrastructure via a logical network connection called a Virtual Private Network (VPN). This allows organizations to build networks within the cloud without managing physical hardware. The customer can then use their VPN client or device to connect to the cloud from any location to gain access to the resources made available by the service provider.
The term "virtual" refers to the fact that the resources are not physically located at one site but may be spread across several sites. In addition, the services provided by the service provider may be delivered over the Internet using standard protocols like TCP/IP.
The term "private" means only authorized users can access the resources in the cloud.
The term 'cloud' refers to an environment where computing resources are dynamically allocated on demand. Cloud computing enables applications to scale rapidly based on user needs. It leverages shared pools of configurable computing resources (e.g., processors, memory, network bandwidth) that can be provisioned through simple web-based interfaces.
Cloud computing has become increasingly popular because it offers significant cost savings for businesses. For example, companies can now rent these resources as needed instead of buying and maintaining expensive IT equipment.
- Cost savings – By moving workloads to a managed virtual private cloud, you avoid paying for hardware and software licenses, maintenance fees, and support contracts. Instead, you pay for what you use.
- Scalability – With a virtual private cloud, you can scale up or down capacity quickly and easily. You don't need to worry about buying additional servers or upgrading existing ones.
- Flexibility – When you move workloads to a virtual private cloud, it allows you to change how much storage space, processing power, and bandwidth you want to allocate to each application.
- Security – Because a virtual private cloud provides a dedicated network connection, it offers greater protection against cyber attacks. In addition, because it runs on a separate set of servers, it doesn't affect performance.
A Managed Virtual Private Cloud might be a great option to avoid spending too much upfront capital on building your own IT infrastructure. Instead, you can simply move everything into a VPC environment if you already have existing equipment, such as servers, storage, network gear, and even desktops. This has many benefits, including cost savings, improved efficiency, and increased flexibility.
You can run virtually any application inside the provider's cloud environment, whether it's hosted on-premises or in the cloud. Launching an app connects directly to the provider's cloud infrastructure rather than connecting to your local computer. All communication with the provider's cloud happens behind the scenes.
